STOCKYARD HILL WIND FARM

SNC-LAVALIN/WBHO JOINT VENTURE

The $700 million project consisted of 149 approved wind turbines located approximately 35 km west of Ballarat. The Stockyard Hill Wind Farm has the potential to harness one of Victoria’s best wind resources and will provide substantial environmental, community and economic benefits, and will have the potential to power approximately 390,000 homes annually.
The project commenced construction in May 2018.

Tooheys Form-crete were subcontracted to build the turbine bases for the turbines being installed.

Scope of works included:

  • Blinding the base of the excavation

  • Bolt and ring installation

  • Reinforcement installation

  • Conduit and sleeve installation

  • Formwork supply and installation

  • Concrete placement and supply of concrete pumps

  • Stripping of formwork

  • Placement of grout

  • Supply of all cranage for associated tasks

Toohey’s Form-crete completed this scope of works for the Stockyard Hill Wind Farm in 15 months, from August 2018 till October 2019.
