Project Bluebird is a new state of the art flour mill facility built by George Weston Foods for MAURI located in the Ballarat West Employment Zone.
The flour mill's grain intake building will feed the production facility and will be capable milling approximately 400 tonnes of wheat per day while out loading a range of high-quality flour products by both truck and rail. The product facility spans over 6 levels and features a complex of grain storage silos, grain processing equipment, tempering bins, finished product silos and a bulk outload facility. The project is designed to be a modern, sustainable facility that can meet the growing demand for MAURI's products.
Toohey’s Form-Crete was contracted to deliver the concrete structure of the facility including:
FRP works to 7-story mill including in-situ core walls using jump-form system
FRP works to 3-story grain intake building
FRP warehouse slab
FRP grain storage silos slab
FRP Tempering bin walls including using jump-form system
Supply and installation of reinforcing steel
Supply and installation of temporary perimeter protection
Installation of precast concrete panels
Supply and installation of stair master’s to stairwells
