The fifth and final stage of the GMHBA Stadium (Kardinia Park) redevelopment is a $142 million government funded project that will see a new two-tier 14,000-capacity northern grandstand replace the existing Ford Stand and Gary Ablett Terrace.
The redevelopment also includes several other major improvements including a new northern entry plaza, change rooms, a regional cricket hub and replacement facilities for the Geelong Cricket Club, and new media facilities.
Toohey’s Form-crete have been contracted to deliver the following concrete elements to the new multi-level grandstand:
FRP reinforced concrete walls
FRP all core slabs approx. 1100m2
FRP suspended floor slabs approx. 1100m2
FRP all insitu concrete beams and edge beams
FRP all concrete in-situ stairs and landings
FRP all insitu band beams including post tensioned beams,
Placement of reinforcement and finish of all structural screeds to precast planks approx. 7000m2
FRP insitu seating plats
Pour and finish concrete plinths
