
Melbourne Level Crossing Removals

This $530 million dollar project saw the removal of level crossings in North, McKinnon and Centre Roads. This Included lowering the rail lines and reconstruction of new stations.
Toohey’s Form-crete were employed for the duration of the main rail occupation which saw all stations closed for a period of 5 weeks. Toohey’s Form-crete provided 20 employees for that period working around the clock 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Formwork
Installation of Temporary Bracing for sheet piles
Installation of concourse planks and parapets
Concreting of all station, platform and ramps at Bentleigh station
Installation of columns and plinths
Toohey’s Form-crete’s two 10 man crews were responsible for the assembling and removal of temporary bracing of sheet piles, installation of pre-cast planks to the fore-court of the station, pouring of all concrete at the station, including platforms, ramps and the station slab, forming and pouring of all columns for the structural steel for the assembly of the station, as well as numerous other jobs that the client needed completed to deliver the project on schedule.
